About Me

I'm Jimmy Holcomb, gardener, artist, designer, dancer, and child of the south. I know some things about garden history, but not enough, and perhaps not the most important ones.

In about 2017, while visiting Renaissance gardens in Italy, I began to see decline in dwarf boxwood plantings. I am not ok with that.

I'm here to honor and celebrate one cultivar of one species of one plant genus: Buxus sempervirens 'Suffruticosa'.

I live now in Hillsborough, North Carolina, a small town with deep historical roots and strong feelings for houses and gardens.
